The Immigration Department of the US Embassy in any country considers all immigrant visa categories.

Anyone leaving for the United States for permanent residence, also with the intention of working in the US, should have an immigration visa. To apply for such a visa, you must have an immigration petition approved by the Immigration Office (USCIS) and submitted as part of family reunification or by a future employer.

According to US immigration law, immigrant visas are issued in four categories: visas for members of the immediate family of a US citizen and other family visas , work visas , visas issued as part of the Visa Lottery Program known as the "green card" and special categories of immigrants . This page also contains information on fiancee visas . On the Department of State's website you can check information on all visa categories.

After approval of the immigration petition by the USCIS Immigration Service and completion of all procedures at the National Visa Center (NVC), and in the case of people drawn in the Lotteries Diversity Visa program at the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), please follow the instructions from NVC or KCC.
